The Norwegian state-owned broad energy company, Equinor, participated as a volunteer team in the 16th Chuja Island Yellow Corvina Festival, which took place in Chuja Island from October 11th to 13th. The company also supported the festival by providing prizes for a raffle for festival participants.

Equinor is seeking to develop two wind farms near Chuja Island – Seo Chuja and Dong Chuja – with a combined capacity of up to 3GW. During the festival, around 10 employees from Equinor Korea actively engaged with the fishermen and residents of Chuja Island. The company generously donated event prizes to the festival’s organizing committee. On the last day of the festival, a plogging event—an activity combining jogging and picking up trash—was held on the Chuja Island.

Xavier Moore, Head of Business and Development & Commercial of Equinor Korea, emphasized, “Equinor places significant importance on coexisting with local communities.” He added, “In addition to our continued efforts to coexist and thrive with Chuja residents, we are also looking into plans that focus in strengthening the local economy and ensuring environmental sustainability.”

The Chuja Island Yellow Corvina Festival attracted numerous visitors through its various programs. Through its active participation, the Equinor Korea volunteer team hope to strengthen its ties with the Chuja residents, showing its dedication to grow and thrive together.
